10 Enabling and disabling notifications

OJS makes several automatic notifications available to users. These notifications may be email and will also appear in the notifications section of the journal dashboard for logged-in users. Some user accounts are automatically enrolled for specific notifications based on their role – for example, journal editors are automatically enrolled for email notifications about editorial statistics.
To turn notifications on or off:
- Log into your OJS account for the journal
- In the back end, click the profile avatar icon in the top, far-right corner of the window
- Click Edit Profile
- On the Profile page, open the Notifications tab
- Enable or disable notifications and email alert for specific events and announcements as required
- Click Save.
At present, it does not appear to be possible for journal managers or editors to enable or disable notifications on behalf of users.
