Dependencies

Dependency check. Imagemagick OK, ffmpeg OK, kazam OK.
Checking for dependencies in the Linux commandline.

My gif workflow relies on three apps:

  • ffmpeg (for extracting frames from a video)
  • imagemagick (for converting image/frames to make an animated gif)
  • kazam (for screencasts/screen recording)

So the first step is checking if you have them installed and, if not, installing them.

(Kazam can be interchanged with any screen recording app.)
